- BOOSTERS 4.0
- Assembly Language Power For Turbo Pascal
- (Shareware Version)
-
- The Boosters 4.0 library supports Turbo Pascal version 4.0 or
- higher.
-
- The complete library (as of 10/22/88) offers you 90
- routines, all of which you can pull from a single unit,
- BOOSTERS.TPU.
-
- The shareware version of the library contains only the
- routines written in assembly language (MASM 4.0), which
- total 63. This version also resides in a single unit,
- BOSHARE.TPU.
-
- The shareware module has in it:
-
- 1) BOSHARE.PAS
- 2) BOSHARE.TPU
- 3) Example routines
- 5) The Boosters screen generator, ScrGen16, which
- lets you design your video interface panels and
- menus, then save them in a single file. Boosters
- has routines that let you copy the screens from
- the file to the heap, from which they can be
- rifled to the screen in whole or in part using
- other Boosters procedures.
- 4) Documentation files (2) for the complete Boosters
- library (in other words, documentation for all
- 90 routines)
- 5) This Readme file
- 6) 63 .OBJ files for the externals in BOSHARE.PAS
-
- As many of you know, Boosters has been around for awhile.
-
- In November, 1985, version 1.0 entered the shareware world
- for support of Turbo Pascal 2.0 and 3.0. Subsequent versions
- improved performance, added functionality to existing
- routines, and inducted new routines into the library.
-
- Boosters underwent a complete overhaul for Turbo Pascal 4.0
- because of major changes in the compiler. Thus, Boosters 4.0,
- which made its debut in April, 1988, supports only Turbo
- Pascal 4.0 and higher.
-
- Boosters has caught the attention of several reviewers. You
- can find the most recent writeup in the June, 1988 issue of
- Computer Language, Tim Parker's column. Doug Ortega reviewed
- Boosters 2.0 in the Product Watch section of PC Tech Journal in
- the July, 1987 issue, as well. We thank both reviewers sincerely
- for their positive assessment.
-
- Boosters has been a commercial product off and on during its
- young life. As of October 22, 1988, Boosters 4.0, in this
- limited form only, is shareware once again.
-
- So, here are the some suggested options:
-
- 1) If you like Boosters but don't want the complete
- library, you can encourage product growth by
- registering for $18.90. That's 63 assembly
- language modules at thirty cents apiece.
-
- 2) If you like Boosters and want the complete library
- (all 90 routines), you can encourage product growth
- by registering for $25.00. The complete library,
- of course, includes the Pascal source code for the
- 27 additional routines that comprise Boosters.Pas--
- as well as the source code for ScrGen16.Pas.
-
- 3) If you like Boosters, want the complete library and
- a printed copy of the documentation, you can
- encourage product growth by registering for $35.00.
- The documentation came off an HP Series II (thanks to
- John Jones of LaGrange Park, IL) and has a plastic
- spiral binding that allows it to lay flat (Amen!).
-
- 4) If you like Boosters and want everything--full library,
- printed doc, and documented assembler source code for
- all 63 externals (perhaps to help you learn assembly
- language with the Turbo Assembler)--you can encourage
- product growth by registering for $50.00.
-
- We trust that if you are using Boosters in software that you
- sell, you will choose to register. There are no royalties for
- including Boosters routines in your products.
-
- When you register under option 2 ,3, or 4, you receive the
- latest version of the library. We keep all registered users
- notified of any revisions, new releases or products.
-
- Users wishing to register may do so by check or MC/Visa.
